From Roseau travel in a northerly direction passing through several coastal villages.
After about an hours drive arrive in the agricultural area of Syndicate
Where crops like bananas, citrus, dasheen, pumpkins and yams are grown.
Guides will explain about the different crops, how they are grown, harvested and used.
This tour also goes into the Syndicate Rainforest which is located at the foothills of Morne Diablotin the island’s highest mountain.
The Syndicate Rainforest represents some of the finest Oceanic Rainforest on the island and maybe the world.
There are well kept and maintained trails, on which even elderly people will not find it difficult to walk.
Visitors will be able to see some of the best specimens of rainforest trees like the giant Gommier (Dacryodes Excelsa) and the incredibly buttressed Chataignier (Sloanea Caribea) often inhabited by various epiphytes and stranglers.
Guides will explain about the different trees as visitors walk through the forest.
This forest is also one of the main habitats for the island’s two endangered parrots the Sisserou and the Jacko.
Some other birds likely to be seen are, The Broad Winged Hawk, The Ruddy Quail Dove, The Rufus Throated Solitaire, The Stolid Flycatcher, The House Wren, The Trembler, The Mangrove Cuccoo, The Pearly Eyed and Scaly Breasted Trashers, The Blue Headed Hummingbird.
